Trading in Investment Banking Without a Licence

The National Reserve Bank of Tonga (NRBT) has officially identified and taken action against the entity operating under the name "Famili Tonga USA Trading" for engaging without a licence in investment activities confirmed as a banking business. This entity has been found to operate without a requisite banking license, a contravention of section 7 of the Banking Act 2020.

NRBT has therefore directed this business to cease its investment activity immediately and all the funds collected must be paid back to the investors. Investors who have not received their invested funds from Famili Tonga USA Trading as of 10 November 2023 are encouraged to file a claim with the Reserve Bank. Claims should be accompanied by necessary evidence and submitted using the provided "Declaration" form, available for pickup at the Reserve Bank’s reception desk or downloaded from this link:
