National Reserve Bank of Tonga Cancels a Foreign Exchange Dealer License

The National Reserve Bank of Tonga wishes to inform the general public that the license granted under the name “T&T Money Transfer Limited” to act as a foreign exchange dealer (License Type A) has been canceled and is no longer authorized to conduct foreign exchange business.

Members of the public are hereby advised that the entities listed below have been authorized as Authorized Persons licensed to deal in foreign exchange under the Foreign Exchange Control Act 2018 in Tonga:

Members of the public are cautioned against doing business with unauthorized foreign exchange dealers and are encouraged to report to the National Reserve Bank of Tonga any person or business that is advertising or providing foreign exchange services but is not an authorized person or authorized foreign exchange dealer. Any person dealing with foreign exchange without a valid license commits an offense and is liable upon conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or both.
